"Achieving Balance With All Species Through Love"
Diane moved next door to me in 1996 and it was not long before we discovered our common interest - concern for the welfare of animals - which has created a meaningful friendship for us. For more than 3 years, we cared for each other’s companion animals when we traveled, discussed their illnesses and their cute behaviors, and tried to provide the best food for them. We jointly gave love and care to a homeless cat who adopted our neighborhood. I participated from the sidelines a little with Diane’s constant need to trap, neuter, nurture and find loving homes for the endless stream of homeless cats living in a field behind her office. Our lives are now lived thousands of miles apart but that love of animals and concern for their suffering has bonded us together for life. Diane Major BA, MA

Peaches
I met Diane Ellis through a mutual friend. It started out to be a long distance over the internet and phone relationship… Anyways, my parents have an aged overo paint mare that never had any training and was pretty much a pasture horse all of her life. When we decided to do something with her, (training) it became very traumatic for her, she was very scared of everything that was happening to her. With the advice of our mutual friend, I sent some pictures of Peaches to Diane and asked her to help us try and figure out what we could do for Peaches. Diane immediately said that “Peaches” was deaf and could not hear anything. This is why she was so scared when we took her away from her lifetime surroundings. Everything that Peaches had been trying to tell us for so many years all made sense now.
My mother wanted to get a second opinion from a vet and he confirmed that she is indeed totally deaf.
Diane came to Washington State about a month later to visit and do some clinics. While visiting with Peaches in person Diane said that Peaches was telling her she had a terrible headache and neck pain. This was caused from an injury done when she was just a weanling which she had been living with for 5+ years. With the help of Mikki Kison doing acupressure and Chinese medicine (body work) and Diane talking to Peaches intuitively, Diane was able to tell Mikki where to adjust Peaches and where the pain was located. Peaches felt and acted much better afterwards. Peaches now follows everyone around like a large dog. She loves to be handled, brushed and worked with. She does not have that worried look of hurt and distress on her face anymore. Since then I have called Diane on numerous occasions for her help on communicating with horses and their feelings about things. She has a God gift and talent and she has made a believer out of me. Our animals are here on this earth to teach us many things if we will just listen to them. I thank Diane for teaching me this.
A Very Appreciative Believer,

Jessie
I recently came in contact with Diane over the phone about an unrelated subject, but the conversation quickly turned towards Jesse, a horse I have been caring for since mid June of this year 2006. Diane was able to connect with Jessie and was very accurate about his condition. She was able to relay to me some of the areas of his body that were uncomfortable and convey his emotions about his past. She helped me know what he needed to hear and had some great ideas about using flower essences to calm, sooth his allergies and help him realize he was safe with me. I have been adding the flower essences to his water and can see a difference in his attitude and general wellbeing in the last week. Thank you Diane, you have helped fill a void in my holistic approach to Jessie's rehabilitation.

Diane has been able to connect with Roxie my horse in a way no other person has. Roxie trusts Diane and will open up to her (a first!). She has come into our lives at just the right time and we are both enjoying knowing her. Her unconditional kindness and love for the animals is amazing. Roxie and I both thank you Diane!

Diane is a compassionate animal communicator, Anaflora Flower Essence Practitioner, Reiki Master and teacher. We have shared many wonder hours together on the phone and in each others company. I cannot think of all the times I have consulted with her about different animals. Many times when I have questions about the health of an animal either emotional or physical, I will call Diane. She has helped me with many of the horses I have helped heal. She has taught me many things about the Flower Essences and how they can be a great part of the healing process. In my work with Equine Acupressure I have found Diane’s intuitive gifts invaluable!! We have worked together several times on a horse at the same time, where Diane has helped guide me through a session; letting me know what the horse is feeling and where to go next. I often consult with Diane when choosing a homeopathic remedy for one of my horses or dogs, she will help me determine what remedy and potency is best for the animal.
Thank you Diane!!!!

Diane has been a beacon of hope and understanding to many through her unique ablilties to both intuitively communicate with as well as provide natural healing methods for animals. Her compassion for all creatures over the 20 years I have known her has been exempliifed through working as a volunteer at shelters and rescues, managing a feral cat colony, administering food, love and medical care, fostering special needs animals, and numberous random acts of kindness to domesticated as well as wild animals. Her deep compassion and devotion to the improvement of the lives of all animals is truly an inspiration.

Yoga
I’m delighted to know, teach, study, and be a friend of Diane Ellis who embodies everything Yoga represents. Diane was a student of mine for years and became passionate about Yoga resulting in her becoming a certified teacher who taught several of my classes. The students requested that she come back to teach again and again. Her teachings and her spirit radiate irresistible warmth.
Diane, as I know her, is a qualified Yoga and Pilates teacher. She also has special training with animals (dogs, cats, horses) and I do not think she ever met an animal that did not warm to her presence. She practices what she teaches in that she is an environmentalist and a vegetarian benefiting her community by example.

Reiki
By profession, I am an educator with an MA degree and years of experience in teaching new teachers in Canada. In this way, I feel eminently qualified to comment on Diane Ellis as an instructor. She was accessible and organized -- despite some unusual mitigating factors that might have disorganized even the most seasoned educator. Her facility in adapting her teachings and her teaching style to her learners and their specific learning circumstances was most impressive.
It's commonly said that doctors are notoriously bad patients, well, teachers can be equally challenging learners. Diane put me at ease immediately. The depth of her learning and breadth of her experience give Diane a facility with the content and flexibility when dealing with her students. This ease with the material frees her to focus on the learners and their learning needs. Diane can condense or expand information effectively in response to her students' experience and knowledge. No question was unwelcome or too simple to be patiently and carefully explained in a way that was easy for all to understand. Always, she was able to direct her learners to various outside sources so they might enhance their learning if they so desired.
As a person, I can say that Diane is kind, generous and pleasant to work with while learning. She is equally delightful company to chat with while having lunch. I personally was glad of her willingness to go the extra mile, sometimes literally, for her students!
I regret one thing only, and that is that I do not live closer, so that I might study with Diane Ellis further. This summer, I traveled across the continent -- from Vancouver Canada to Colorado -- to take Reiki I and II and Reiki for Animals from Diane. I am very glad I did!

Pet/Horse First Aid Certification Classes
"I recommend this class to everyone who has dedicated themselves to the well being of the animals in their lives. Pet owners, professional trainers, pet sitters, and veterinary technicians will benefit from taking this class because it is what YOU do in those first moments of an emergency that can determine the outcome. Diane is an excellent trainer for this class because she is thorough and answers all of your questions without judgment. It's very important to know what steps need to be taken during an emergency as there may not be an emergency service close by. The steps you take could save a life!"
Diane is someone that you can walk into a room and instantly feel at ease with. I think animals and humans alike can sense the peace she feels and instantly feel at ease. Her compassion for animals is very deep, and it is evident that she infuses the work she does with her caring, peaceful spirit. I would recommend Diane to everyone interested in animal communication and healing arts"....

"Looking to enhance my credentials as I begin a new career in pet care, I came across the Pet Tech Pet First Aid/CPR certification course taught by Diane Ellis. I knew that there were other Pet First Aid courses out there, but I was very impressed by the list of topics covered in the Pet Tech course, as explained on Diane's website. I also felt that a full day of study was an appropriate amount of time to cover everything mentioned. Little did I know how quickly the time would pass that day.
Diane is an amazing instructor. She is pleasant and funny and very knowledgeable. She covered the topic matter in an organized fashion with plenty of time for questions and review. I believe that the information I learned from Diane will prove invaluable to me as a pet owner and animal care provider.
In addition to the knowledge I gained, however, I was thrilled to have met another person who is as compassionate and enthusiastic about animal welfare as I am. I highly recommend this course and feel confident that any course taught by Diane Ellis will enrich your life in more ways than one".

Ruffy
Diane was over for a visit with our family one evening and I mentioned to her our dog Ruffy, a small mixed breed, had not eaten since the night before and acted like he might have an upset stomach as his stomach was making lots of noise. Ruffy does not like people he does not know and takes a long time to warm up to them once he decides to let them in. Ruffy will make his unfriendliness quite known to anyone who crosses into his personal space that has not been pre-approved and accepted. But when he came into the room where we all had gathered, Ruffy made a bee line for Diane and reached up with his front paws asking Diane to pick him up. She had never met Ruffy before. I was amazed. She placed Ruffy in her lap and there he stayed for the next three hours! He kept shifting his position so Diane’s hands would go to where he wanted them and once in the position he wanted would close his eyes and go to sleep. He did this several times. Diane told us the Reiki energy immediately started to flow from her hands to Ruffy and she told Ruffy to take whatever energy he needed for as long as he wanted. The sounds in his stomach had stopped completely after the three hours, at which time Ruffy sat up, gave Diane some kisses and jumped down and went to his bowl of homemade food and ate his entire dinner after which he went outside to relieve himself. He has been fine ever since.

Steward
My family and I where having great difficulty getting through the deep sadness of our beloved horse Steward who had passed away earlier this year. Diane was able to connect to Steward and communicate to us exactly Stewards personality, his favorite toys and many of the special times we had together. Being able to hear from Steward and know that he loved us and was happy meant so much to us. Diane was also able to tell us about the painful laminitis he suffered in his front left foot and how much Steward appreciated our care and support during this time in his life. Letting go of a cherished animal friend has never been easy for my family and I, and Steward was very special to all of us. It was a great comfort to know from Steward that we had made the right choice to let him go when we did and let him leave his failing body.
She made several suggestions, one of those was to create a sacred memorial service to honor Steward. The process of preparing for this special event has changed our lives forever. As we gathered photo’s and wrote our own special stories about Steward to present at his memorial service it allowed each one of us to grieve in our own way while being supported by each other. The service was beautiful beyond words. We invited friends, relatives, neighbors and horse’s that all played a part in Steward’s life. We could all feel Stewards present there with us as we celebrated his life. We miss him terribly, but feel more comfort now knowing he is happy and that he will always be with us in spirit. We are so thankful for Diane’s help and compassion during this time in our lives. Along with Diane’s suggestions and the Anaflora flower essences she sent, helped us get through the deep grief we where all suffering and has brought us closer together as a family.

Sapphire
Our pure siamese cat Sapphire was born deaf and has always been very outgoing and loving to everyone. Sapphire, true to the Siamese personality, always needs to be involved in everything you do. So when one day Sapphire because terrified for reasons we could not understand we where puzzled and very concerned. Sapphire had never acted this way before, nothing ever bothered him. We witnessed Sapphire one moment being our happy go lucky kitty to the next minute terrified and racing straight up the stairs as fast as he could go and hide in a closet where he would not come out sometimes for several hours. It was terrifying for us to see our Sapphire so frightened. Sapphire would not come out of the closet unless we reached in and picked him up and when we did, he would lay his ears flat back and had the most terrified look in his eyes and would jump from our arms right back into the closet. We tried and tried to sooth his fears, but nothing worked. These episodes had been going on for about four weeks. We took Sapphire to our vet and all he wanted to do was put him on anti-depressants which was totally out of the question. We found out about Diane through some friends and when we found out she lives with two deaf cats and has experience dealing with deaf animals, cats, dogs and horses we thought she would be able to help us with our Sapphire.
Diane quickly educated us about how much more sensitive deaf animals and humans are to vibrations and educated us about using hand signals with Sapphire that would help form a better line of communication between us. Diane explained that one of her own cats and a dog has been troubled with a similar situation. When Diane first tried to communicate with Sapphire about what had happened, he told her he was too frightened to go there. Diane told Sapphire she would go with him to keep him safe as she formed a shield between what had frightened him. Sapphire told Diane there where vibrations coming from the walls of the house that he did not understand and it frightened him terribly. Diane asked us if we might be able to find out where these vibrations where coming from. We remembered our neighbors have been fixing up their home getting it ready to sell and we noticed earlier they had done a lot of tree and bush trimming using electric saws and big trucks along with doing some repair work on the outside of the house where they used electric power tools which all made lots of noise. We didn't think it could bother Sapphire because he is deaf so didn't think much about it. We found out that they had accidentally let a few branches from one of their trees hit our roof and since it did not do any damage they did not let us know. We realized it was at this same time that Sapphire started to run and hide.
Diane explained that deaf animals have a very sensitive feel for vibrations and feel things most do not. Diane sent over night to us “Return to Joy” flower essences along with intructions that we followed. When Sapphire was hiding in the closet I would go in with him to give the flower essences and he never struggled to get away from me. Within a week after starting the flower essences Sapphire was spending less time in the closet after one of these episodes and was getting braver each day. Though at times he would still get frightened and run back into the closet or under the bed, but would not stay there for long before coming back out. When Sapphire see's the flower essence bottle I place on the bathroom counter he now jumps up onto the counter to receive them. By the end of a month Sapphire was back to his happy self. He now shows no signs of his terrifying experience.
Everyone in the family now uses the hand signals Diane taught us for Sapphire. We know the hand signals have allowed Sapphire and us to understand each other better. Sapphire has never purred much, but now he purrs all the time and he is even more outgoing and happy, asking for more pets and loving. The flower essences where such a God sent for Sapphire. As Diane explained to us the vibrations that Sapphire is so attuned to exist in every living thing, and are also in the flower essences. The vibrations of the flower essences addresses emotional issues helping us to heal. We are so thankful for Diane. She has such a special gift with the animals. We highly recommend her services.

Worm
We met Diane when we moved in next to her. She saw we had an older cat and told us should we need any help with him to let her know. One day Diane saw Worm and noticed his coat looked a little unkept and asked if she could give us some powdered supplement to try. We where taken by Diane’s compassion and love for Worm. We told her he had been having some issues with his bowels and she asked if she could show us how to make some homemade meals that older cats do very well on. Diane educated us about commercial pet food and how much better animals do on homemade meals. After starting Worm on the supplements and homemade meals he started to become a new kitty within a few weeks. His coat was looking beautiful again and he was playful and more alive then he’s been in years and the problem with his bowels totally cleared up. The homemade meals where easy to prepare and Worm really liked them.
Diane also gave Worm Reiki treatments which he absolutely loved. He would settle into Diane’s lap whenever she came over and fall fast asleep during the treatments. Worm was 17 years old when we met Diane and lived to be 20. We are so thankful for Diane’s help and guidance with Worm.
