In treating elephants with Anaflora Flower Essences, the essences are usually sprayed from a four-ounce spray bottle directly onto the elephants’ tongues, which they readily stick out in anticipation! It is worthwhile to try this spraying method with any large animal. Elephants also like to have flower essences rubbed on their tongues (and they have a distinct preference for brandy). Turtles, armadillos and iguanas like the essences rubbed on their skin, as well as having it put in their water. When adding essences to a large animals’ water, it is best to use a half-filled (or less) bucket daily, so that you know the animal is getting a good fresh “dose” of the essence. Three to seven drops to one dropper-full is most commonly used with large animals, although it is our experience that the smaller dosage will suffice.

“Because flower essences are vibrational in nature, their effectiveness is not dependent on quantity: therefore, it is not necessary to give much more of an essence or formula to an elephant than you would to a house cat!.
However, large animals usually receive less attention and affection than more diminutive companion animals. For this reason, we feel that your intimate attention to larger animals during treatment with flower essences is a powerful component in the healing process.
Therefore, for horses, cows, and other large animals, we suggest that, in addition to adding them to their water source, you put a few drops of the essence on a carrot or other “goodie” and offer it directly to the animal. In this way, the animal being treated has the benefit of your focused attention and love.
To understand how important such special attention and love are to the healing of an animal, think of it this way: if you were in a state of ill health or emotional upset, would you benefit more from medicines mixed into your food and water or medicines lovingly handed to you with prayers and good wishes?

All day long a little burro labors, sometimes
with heavy loads on her back and sometimes just with worries
about things that bother only
burros.
And worries, as we know, can be more exhausting
than physical labor.
Once in awhile a kind monk comes
to her stable and brings
a pear, but more
than that,
He looks into the burros eyes and touches her ears,

and even seems to laugh
